Based on the local legends and stories of people who’ve visited the real-life abandoned hospital, GONJIAM: HAUNTED ASYLUM follows the crew of a horror web show who plan to stream live from inside the asylum. I’m currently on a found footage horror marathon, and most of the movies I’ve been watching were horrible. I watched Grave Encounters and Greystone Park this week and both were horrible. It felt so refreshing to watch a FF movie with a stable camera, consistent storyline, and an ending that doesn’t leave you questioning wtf was going on.
This is shit scary, I thought it was going to be crap but I was dead wrong. . . . . . . deffo worth watching!
Decent found footage effort that reminded me a lot , premise wise, of grave encounters . A few ok plot twists along the way. I did find it a little hard to follow once the action heats up. Doesnt let up until the final frame.
You know how you watch a really good horror movie and you think to yourself, "Yeah I want more of that but different. " This is that. Yes, there's nothing revolutionary or new in it but it delivers familiar scares spectacularly. It may feel like it takes a bit to get going but all the lead up is so worth it. I rarely watch movies more than once but I frequently come back to this one. Truly one of my all time favorites. Definitely worth your time if found footage and haunted places are your thing.
easily rocketed to the top of my list of best found footage movies. camp without being too cheesy; all the classic tropes employed well with almost none of the garbage. characters are believable and likeable enough that i felt bad for them the whole second act. a really fun watch! and if you're too scared to watch the action, just focus on the subtitles LOL
